• Women should be permitted to preach.
• The speaking in tongues.
• The interpretation of tongues.

• We are a praying church.
• Believe God still performs miracles.
• The laying on of hands for divine healing.
• Anointing with oil.
• Believes in water baptism.

    In 1979, God sent His faithful angel to me in a dream to disclose the work that He had ordained for me. After much hesitation and denial, I finally accepted my calling into the Gospel ministry. I have endeavored to fulfill that command by preaching and teaching the unadulterated Word of God. Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel", (Mark 16:15).

    In the midst of all the good things He has done, God has given me a vision to go deeper into ministry and Faith Temple is most certainly a part of this vision. We have come a long way since our humble beginnings at 550 E. Liberty St. Over the years we've experienced many troubled times, but the Lord has allowed us to persevere. Surely, we are richly and wonderfully blessed.

    But now let us look to the future and see what God has in store. "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart", (Jeremiah 3:15). God has anointed me, Jerome Spencer, as pastor and chief overseer. He has given me the corporate vision concerning this church. He has instructed me as He did the prophet Habakkuk to " Write the vision and make it plain", (Habakkuk 2:2).

    Our main objective has been and always will be to broaden the spiritual lives of all that we become acquainted with and impress upon them to seek the highest Christian experiences possible in this life, the baptism of the Holy Ghost. In addition to being a place of spiritual enrichment, I also envision Faith Temple as a place where personal physical needs can be satisfied. (Matthew 25:34-40).

    I visualize community outreach programs which consist of a food service that provides hot nutritious meals daily for the underprivileged in the community, clothing drives for those in need, infant and toddler daycare, before and after school care, in-home care and transportation for the elderly, educational tutoring, mentoring the youth, counseling, financial and family planning.

    My desire is to be an effective role model and to instill positive values back into the community. The welfare of the community was once the responsibility of the church. It is my sincere desire to put those responsibilities back where it belongs.
